Kenneth Sweeney is a singer, actor and dancer based in NYC whose main focus on stage is authenticity. As performer, he typically portrays characters who yearn very deeply, and enjoys breathing life into these characters by making them more than just what they want. He also loves telling stories through dance by leading with strong intention, technique and musicality. His favorite scores to sing generally lean to the more classical/croony categories (She Loves Me, Just in Time, Loesser, Any R&H), and has found both joy and success doing Sondheim material (but who hasn’t!) However, he’s enjoyed working on modern scores as well as new works, which give him the rare chance to play roles closer to his own age and day-to-day personality. When he has time, he likes to work on his on-camera acting skills, and break down Shakespeare texts.
Originally from Los Angeles, Kenneth attended the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts as a dance major, completing 10 years of ballet and concert dance training before entering the musical theatre world. He is currently on a leave of absence from the Manhattan School of Music, where he plans to finish his B.M. in Musical Theatre in 2028.
